5 Quick and Easy SEO tips to increase your Google Ranking

Keyword research and improving your organic search result on Google can sometimes be a nightmare if you don’t know what you’re doing.
I’ve put together 5 easy steps you can take right now to see if you are including the right Keywords on your website and how you can improve your Keyword research if needs be;
1 CREATE A STARTER-LIST OF KEYWORDS
Create a starter-list of about five keywords you think relates to your business or topic. These are search terms that you think your audience will enter into Google to find your product or service.
2COMPETITION
Google Search your Keyword ideas and see how many results were given for your search term. You will also see a list of URLs with the same keywords – take note because these are your competitors! You can also take this opportunity to view the listed products on Google Shopping to get a more information on your competitors.
3Google Trends
Head over to Google Trends and check how your keywords have been trending over the previous 12 months. Ideally you will want to see an increase in the trend.
This tool is also great for showing the interest in the topic by region or city so you can further market your products/services to those areas.
4USE FREE KEYWORD RESEARCH TOOLS
- SEM Rush – Go to SEMrush and enter your keywords in the search field. In the ‘Organic Search’ field, look at the Volume parameter. This will give you an further understanding to how popular that phrase is.
- Register with Moz and get the access to Keyword Explorer tool. The “Difficulty” parameter estimates how difficult it is for you to rank higher than the current competitors on the first page of search results
- Use Neil Patel’s Ubersuggest tool to get further suggestions and content ideas.
- Instagram – See how well your Keyword is trending as a ‘hashtag’
5 FINALISE YOUR KEYWORD LIST
Go back over your original Keyword ideas compared to what you have gained in the above steps and review your selection. If organic ranking difficulty is high you may need to change your search terms and find other popular keywords that aren’t extremely hard to beat. It’s important to remember that SEO is an ongoing process and needs to be evaluated on a regular basis to ensure you are up to date with search trends and your competition.
